A patent protects the way something works, not how it looks or what it might be called. The protection, and suits for infringement, of patents are the province of specialised patent attorneys, and while Finn Roache does not have a patent attorney amongst its professionals, we are regularly called upon to give preliminary advice to our clients in identifying potential patentability of a product or possible infringement of a registered patent.

Because of the volume of work undertaken in this area, we have developed a network of skilled patent attorneys and advise our client on the best course of action based upon the attorney’s advice. Given the technical nature of advice often provided by patent attorneys, we have found that our plain English interpretation of that advice is invaluable to our clients.
